Final Curtain

FINAL CURTAIN is a musical tribute to the grand finale — to that final moment when the curtain falls for the last time.
At the beginning, the “great red curtain” rises with tremendous force and tension. A captivating passage in the style of symphonic film music takes us on a journey through memories, special moments, and paths we have shared.
In the slow middle section, the music becomes more personal. The individual sections of the orchestra emerge one after another, each saying farewell in its own way — sometimes tender, sometimes mournful, sometimes filled with hope. It is a moment to pause, to look back, and to give thanks. A musical “goodbye.”
But FINAL CURTAIN does not end in melancholy. In the final section, the energy returns. The journey continues, perhaps along a different path, but with renewed strength and confidence.
And then, the curtain falls one last time: powerful, majestic, and full of pride.
This work was commissioned by Werner Eckes and dedicated to "Harmonie Union Troisvierges" (LU) for 42 years as conductor.
